Introduction
Canberra E-Scooter Tours - Discover Lake Burley Griffin the fun, scenic and inclusive way.
At Canberra E-Scooter Tours, we believe that exploring Canberra is for everyone. Our mission is to show you this city’s hidden gems, scenic routes and playful side, and that means creating experiences and a website that are accessible, welcoming and easy to engage with.

Our Commitment
We’re committed to providing you with the best tour experience while browsing “things to do in Canberra”, riding around Lake Burley Griffin on one of our e-scooters, or just checking out our website. We aim to meet the standards set by the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) and comparable ACT laws, as well as align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Website Accessibility

-
We strive to make our website perceivable: images include alt-text, headings are meaningful, and we use colour contrast that supports readability across devices.
-
We aim to make it operable: navigation is keyboard accessible, menus behave predictably, links are clearly described.
-
We design to be understandable: language is simple, consistent and aligned with how we talk to you in person on a tour.
-
We work for robustness: the site is compatible with modern browsers, assistive technologies and adapts to different screen sizes (phone, tablet, desktop).
If you encounter any part of the website that is difficult to access or understand, please get in touch (see “Contact & Feedback” below). We will respond quickly and help you in a way that works for you; For example via email version, large-print PDF or phone assistance.
Tour accessibility & physical experience
Since our signature experience is a guided e-scooter ride around Lake Burley Griffin and its surrounds (Blundells Cottage, National Carillon, Lennox/Beijing Garden, Scrivener Dam lookout, Black Mountain Peninsula, etc), we also commit to reviewing physical accessibility as part of our service:
-
We provide a helmet and gloves (cold weather) and ensure our fleet of e-scooters is maintained for safe operation.
-
We guide the tour at a pace that allows you to take in the scenery, wildlife or hidden corners of Canberra rather than rush past.
-
We are aware of mobility and sensory needs and will discuss with you ahead of your booking how we can support your participation, for example slower pace, safe stopping points, clear verbal cues.
-
If there are accessible-route limitations (for example terrain, path width, lighting, surface condition) we will tell you in advance and work with you to make any reasonable adjustments.
Known Limitation
While we strive for full accessibility, there are known constraints in the tour setting and website which we are actively working to improve:
-
Some paths around Lake Burley Griffin include uneven surfaces, grassy sections or slight inclines. We will continue to map out the smoothest route and inform participants ahead.
-
Some archived documents or third-party content may not yet fully comply with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. If you spot a document that is inaccessible (for example PDF without tags or alt-text), contact us and we will provide an alternative format.
-
Older browsers or assistive devices may not render every interactive element perfectly; if you experience difficulty, please let us know so we can assist directly.
Contact & Feedback
If you have any difficulty accessing our website or joining one of our tours, or you would like information in an alternate format, please contact us:
-
Phone: 0410 289 780 (Mon–Sunday, 08:00-18:00)
We value your feedback. Tell us what worked and what didn’t. We commit to acknowledging your contact within 3 business days and working with you toward a practical solution.

Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is not a box to tick, it is a journey. We review accessibility at least annually or whenever our website or tour operations change significantly. We train our team in inclusive practices, seek guest feedback and update our routes, website and resources accordingly.
We include accessibility considerations in every new service or route we develop, such as future hotel-pick-ups for our Novotel/Ovolo partners or added hire-options.
